When it comes to cakes, we’ve seen some disastrous baking fails as of late.
There was the gender reveal cake which accidentally showcased the gender on the top of the cake and a celebratory bake that was compared to ‘burnt cow flesh’.
Now there’s another one doing the rounds, which is bound to make you giggle.
The cake in question was intended for a wedding and a photo of it was shared online by a wedding planner who, after spotting the mistake, urged people to save the baking for the professionals.
The picture was uploaded to Reddit’s face palm forum, with the caption: “This is why you hire professionals. This cake was supposed to spell Wiser wedding.
“This will be their wedding horror story for sure.”
Instead of getting a professional cake maker to whip up the sweet treat for their big day, the couple had gotten their local supermarket to ice a cake for them.
However the message on the top ended up being very different from what they asked for.
The pair wanted the wording on top of the white frosting to read ‘Wiser wedding’, but instead it said ‘Why’s there a wedding?’ in bright green lettering.
The post went viral on Reddit, with a number of people commented on the baking fail.
One replied: “Honestly, I think I’d find this just hilarious and get tonnes of photos with it and show it off to everyone!”
Another said: “That takes the cake.”
A third wrote: “Great talking point though.”
Others began debating the merits of getting a cheaper cake – with some pointing out how supermarket products often featured errors.
Someone else stated: “As a person who works in a grocery store bakery… I’ve seen some things. It’s real weird what people will want for their weddings on the cheap.”
A second person who claimed to work in a supermarket bakery couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw the blunder.
They added: “I work in a grocery store bakery… I will write down and show what I wrote to those that want me to write on cakes.
“If it’s wrong when I give it back or if they pick up an order thats wrong we will fix it and take money off.
“Whoever did this was either an idiot or didn’t understand English.
“Sometimes it’s hard to understand people too but that’s why I write it down.”
