The Palace Downtown Dubai, the elegant Arabesque hotel under Emaar Hospitality Group’s premium luxury portfolio, Address Hotels + Resorts, will take part in Earth Hour on Saturday, March 25, 2017, between 8.30pm and 9.30pm, in addition to launching its exclusive organic menu for one week as part of the hotel’s sustainability efforts.

The hotel will dim or switch off unnecessary lights and use candles for an hour in a bid to raise awareness and contribute to the world’s largest global climate change initiative, with guests also encouraged to join in by turning out nonessential lights in their rooms and suites for one hour.

As part of the hotel’s continuous efforts to shed light on important environmental causes and support the city’s green activities, for one week from March 25 until 31, three main restaurants – Thiptara, Asado and Ewaan will offer guests exclusive menu items to choose from which have been sustainably sourced, organically grown and prepared using minimal resource consumption.

Asado will offer a tasty selection of dishes from the Mediterranean including confit octopus with espelet pepper, lime and mint aiolie or diners can choose a taste of Galicia with braised short beef rib with mashed potato jus. Staying organic, slow cooked rabbit with mushrooms from the rainy forests of France form a delicious stew that gives diners an authentic galic flavour.

For fish-lovers head to the hotel’s Thai restaurant, Thiptara, and savour Atlantic Crab with papaya and cashew, or sample the grilled Halibut cooked in banana leaves with coriander and lemon. For a taste of Thailand, try the agriculturally certified chicken prepared on natural coconut charcoal for a truly authentic taste.

Lastly, meat-enthusiasts should head to Ewaan to feast on the pure grass fed lamb raised in the New Zealand mountains as tagine with couscous – a must try, whilst shish tawook is grilled on a 100% organic lump of charcoal for those who love Arabic-style chicken. With fine Italian ingredients, the Middle Eastern dish, Baba Ganoush – offers a creamy Roasa Bianca eggplant with an organic vegetable buffet completing an audacious yet inspiring organic menu that complements the important message of Earth Hour.
