The chic all-dining restaurant Olea presents a contemporary Arabic cuisine with a modern flair. It evokes a truly regional theme that is especially evident in the regal arches and wooden trellis. The setting is of vibrant Arabia making Olea the perfect venue for a traditional Oriental experience, accentuated by chic orange, beige and green décor twist, flamboyant accessories and scattered pouches full of spices.
The menu is an odyssey of diversities that will suit every digestive palate and showcases the very best in the region’s cooking. Olea provides a la carte option, with a wide range of authentic specialties, including hot and cold mezzes and grilled dishes, prepared by a team of gourmet chefs. We tried the tantalizing mezzes, ranging from famous Lebanese Hummus, Batata Harra and Fattoush and other Levantine favourites as Sultan Ibrahim Fish of Cyprus, Lentil Soup, and Mixed grill. The meat was well marinated, succulent and cooked to perfection and the fish was soft as butter. The menu was buzzing with sophisticated oriental sweets, that we couldn’t resist the Baklava ice-cream of Turkey and we gladly opted for the warm, melted Nabulsiah Konafa of Palestine. The menu also offered other authentic Jordanian and Syrian specialties, but after this little culinary excursion, I doubt there can be room for more.
We ended our meal with some exotic mocktails that blended some Arabic elements perfectly, I tried the Levant & Company, Strawberry, lime, cinnamon and black pepper and my partner had a splashing Spiced Honey Colada, it came just in time as we were in urgent need to digest this rather exceptional meal, mocktails are highly recommended at Olea. The service was attentive and the waiters were so friendly and knew the menu well. There were a lot people clearly enjoying each other’s company while embracing this very special atmosphere. It was great to sit in the garden terrace while dining and feeling the warmness of the place and enjoying the live Arabic music.
Overall, an authentic experience to be tried again, nothing short of a first-class Kempinski experience that is worth every penny.
